OUR TEAM
Western Waves is a team built on good energy, strong coaching and quality training. Led by Izzy and Gen, we help swimmers improve technique, build fitness, and get faster.
Our aim is to create a supportive, fun squad environment.
Izzy started Western Waves Swimming in winter 2025 to create a welcoming, motivating environment where adults can improve their swimming, build fitness, and enjoy training with others.
A former national-level swimmer, Izzy returned to racing in her 30s as a Masters swimmer after two decades away from competition. In 2026, she won the Women’s Seniors title at Pier to Pub and holds multiple Australian Masters records, bringing first-hand experience of training, racing, and long-term progression into her coaching.
Izzy has coached and taught learn-to-swim for five years and loves helping swimmers of all ages and abilities build confidence, train smart and achieve their goals.
Outside the pool, Izzy is also an active MMA athlete, bringing a unique cross-disciplinary approach to strength, discipline, and mindset. Her experience across endurance, speed, and combat sports shapes her attention to detail and coaching philosophy.
Her coaching focuses on strong technical foundations, developing speed, managing training loads, and helping swimmers perform at their best both in and out of the water.
